While today’s post is not a fashion post, I wanted to post something that was befitting for the time.
A pandemic is defined as an outbreak of a disease that occurs over a wide geographic area and affects an exceptionally high proportion of the population. Pandemics are a serious issue. Many people have been affected by the Coronavirus (COVID-19). People have also lost loved ones and the world is in a panic. While this is a serious matter, it is a great time for self-reflection and quality time with family and friends. I can understand how it can make people panic because many businesses and employers have shut down (as well as cities). It is something that is very uncommon and people are struggling. Many employers have shut down and some employees are not getting paid for being shut down. It can be a scary thought when there is no definite answer for an end to this pandemic. As I was thinking about the pandemic today, I created an acronym.

- Peace: In the midst of adversity, find peace!
- Absorb: Through everything, find the “silver lining” and absorb all good vibes and positive energy!
- Neglect: Throughout this process, neglect all negative thoughts and energy! Have faith that all things will work out for good!
- Disconnect: There are many opinions, myths, and constant, evolving news. Take this time to disconnect from social media and news outlets! Spend time with your loved ones and take this time to connect with those that matter most.
- Energize: Take this time to rest and energize. While everything is shut down or locked down, this would be a great opportunity to regain strength and get energized!
- Meditate: Use this free time to meditate. Pray, breathe, and relax! Breathe in positive vibes and exhale negative energy!
- Invest: While the stock market is down, it would be a great time to invest in your future. Not only is this a good time to invest financially, it is a great time to invest in yourself. Many times we don’t do self-care because we are constantly on the go. While it seems the world is at a standstill, take time to invest in self-care. Do something to relax: have a candlelit bubble bath, get a massage, read a book, enjoy a glass of wine, exercise, or do whatever helps you to unwind and feel happy.
- Create: Even though the world seems to have stopped, keep going creatively! This is a great opportunity to CREATE. Write a blog, poem, or song. Draw, paint, or do something creative. Do NOT let this time of idleness and pandemic stifle your creativity!
Although this is unlike anything we have ever seen, I am positive that we will get through this as a nation. Reflect on all good memories, create new memories, and neglect negativity!
Until next time,
