Electricity is a vital part of our world. Electricity is defined as a feeling of thrilling excitement or simply energy. Just like the world needs electricity, so does your look. For me that normally comes in the form of accessories. I love to have fun with shoes as well, but due to my height and the lack of availability for women with large feet (🙄😂), I often just stick to accessories. However lately, thanks to DSW, I’ve been able to find cute and fun heels. I found a brand that makes edgy and cute shoes. I bought a pair on clearance about a year ago for a really great price and fell in love. I bought my second pair by the same brand and instantly fell in love with them. They are black with a gray, furry pom pom on top.
When I was buying them, I went back and forth about which color to get. There was the black pump with a gray pom pom, a blue/purple with a red pom pom, and an olive green with a yellow pom pom. I obviously went with the black pump because it was the safer choice and I could wear them with more looks. I later bought a yellow and green dress that I thought the green pump with yellow pom pom would go great with so I ordered them. The shoes arrived and it turns out my dress had a different shade of green than the shoes. Now I had this fun pair of shoes and nothing to wear with them. I knew that I wanted to wear the shoes so I built my outfit around that (See previous blog Balancing the Equation). I went through my closet in search of olive green, yellow, or a combination of the two colors to match my shoes. I came across a black dress with yellow flowers and green stems that I’d worn once or twice but never really had the shoes for. I put the dress and shoes together and electricity was produced. The pumps are fun and they brought excitement to my look. Another fun fact about this look is that I left my jewelry at home. I was rushing and had nothing. I learned 2 things through this mishap: (1) keep some neutral jewelry in your car or purse and (2) Walmart will never let you down (See my previous post “Genetic Makeup“)!
