So today we’re going to do something a little different; it is still going to be a fashion blog so don’t freak out. lol I wanted to let you guys into my world a little today!!
On April 21, 2019 my family suffered a great loss. My paternal grandfather gained his wings on Easter morning. We had all been preparing ourselves so it was no shock but nevertheless, the preparation did not make the pain any less. We arrived to my grandparent’s home early that morning before daylight. My grandfather was a pastor and Easter was his favorite day. In my haste to be with my family, I completely forgot to take a change of clothes for church. Regardless of what happened, we were going to church because that is what my grandfather would have wanted and there was no point in sitting at home. I was willing to go almost an hour back home but my mom and I headed to Walmart, the only place open at that time of day in the country. After minutes of looking and finding nothing that I liked or in my size, I’d accepted defeat and decided to go home. Just as I was headed to the door, my mom spotted a cardigan that was on the clearance rack. I liked the cardigan but I didn’t like the shirt that came with it. So we searched for another shirt and a skirt to complete the outfit. I found a white skirt with navy blue and baby blue designs that matched perfectly with my navy blue cardigan. I then found a white, ruffled tank top that was on clearance and just like that, I’d made an outfit. I went to look for some gold and blue jewelry since I had a gold necklace in my car. However, just as I did with searching for clothes, I gave up and just said well I’ll wear the necklace and small stud earrings that I had with me. Once again, as I was headed to the checkout, I found a cute navy blue and gold flower necklace with earrings to match. As I was shopping, I remembered that I had a pair of taupe heels in my car and an outfit was birthed. lol I got an outfit for less than drum roll please $40!!!! Where there is a will, there is a way! Sometimes you have to make the best of what you have or what is given. I believe that I did good with what you have to make the best of what you have or what is given. I believe that I did good with what I found and my family was impressed as well.
Thanks Mom and thanks Walmart.That day was one of the hardest days of that week but we made it through as a family. That is how my grandfather would like it to be. He was a strong man and an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and pastor. He believed that family should stick together. He was resilient and a hard worker. Thank you Paw Paw for instilling these attributes into us all. Although Father’s Day has passed, this post is dedicated to you! Thank you for all that you were to our family and thank you for the 25 years that I was blessed to spend with you! I love you and you will forever live on through the Ware family! 💙
