So first, let me say thanks for always giving me the space to get myself together and actually live life. Several people have asked about the blog and it’s greatly appreciated, I missed writing and I’m excited to get back to it!
So today we’re going to discuss calibrating. Calibrating is defined as making corrections or adjustments to the aspect of a system. I recently posted photos of my weight loss journey on social media. *I’ll post them below.* For me, it is a whole full journey to find clothes, but specifically jeans, that fit exactly like I want them to, especially with this new body or shape of mine. lol I am not sure how the process is for guys when purchasing jeans but I feel like for women, we’re constantly calibrating with jeans. I feel like at one point, I’ve had a drawer full of jeans, but only wore 2-3 pairs consistently. It became a sort of trial period where I tried several different brands and kind of jeans from high end expensive jeans to no name brand or chain store jeans. I tried boot cut jeans, straight leg jeans, jeggings, boyfriend cut, etc. I tried several brands and finally found a brand that fit me perfectly. Now apart of calibrating is also knowing what works with your body shape/type, refer back to the post about Spectrum.

So after trying different pairs of jeans, I determined that I looked the best and felt most comfortable in straight leg, skinny, and jegging jeans! My absolute favorite brand of jeans are Torrid’s jeans! There are a few things that I look for when buying jeans:
- The cut: this is very important I learned that as a tall, plus size girl, bootcut jeans do not work for me because they’re always too short and the fit just always seems to feel weird. lol
- The price: while price isn’t always a factor in the quality of clothing, I’ve learned that with jeans, you get what you pay for. The higher the cost of the jeans, the better the quality and durability of them.
- The fit: It is important to know your shape. I am a tall girl, so there goes the main issue for me with jeans, thankfully Torrid considers us tall girls. I am a little hippy, but I have thunder thighs and no booty. lol Makes for quite an interesting combo but I was able to calibrate my jeans to fit me. It’s important to have the right size and length. With my recent weight loss, I knew that it was time for new jeans. They were constantly falling down and baggy in the seat. That’s definitely not cute. lol
- The most important to me, comfortability: Jeans were once my favorite thing to wear, but I gained weight and they started to feel uncomfortable. I put them on the back burner and fell in love with leggings. Lately though, I’ve started to fall in love with them again. Jeans should be comfy and you shouldn’t dread putting them on. Calibrate them! Adjust them to you and rock them!
Until next time,
